Psychotherapist Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #86416
Sustainability is a guiding principle in my work.
I promote the cultivation of strong interpersonal connections that provide a sense of belonging within one's community;
I support individuals to gain clarity of their unique societal contributions;
I help people to maintain healthy boundaries with the demands of the technological era; and
I assist people to restore their relationship with our collective body, the Earth,
I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies where I learned and implemented Somatic Psychotherapeutic techniques for supporting clients to cultivate bodily awareness. Through this understanding, clients are able to gain insight into and release habitual holding patterns that inhibit personal growth. By supporting individuals to form an allegiance between the mind and body, I aim to mend the schism created by the modern-day emphasis placed on the cultivation of the intellect over the development of bodily wisdom.
I meld my training in Somatic Psychology with an Existential-Humanistic (E-H) approach. Through a client-centered framework that emphasizes inner-consent, clients come to recognize self-imposed limitations and explore new ways of being in relationship with others and within the greater world. I provide long-term, in-depth psychotherapy on a weekly basis. I work experientially with what emerges in each therapeutic encounter and place the therapeutic relationship at the center of the work..
